She specializes in health psychology, personality, stress management (including critical incident stress management), psychological assessment and women’s health issues. Her 20 years of experience includes chronic pain management at the Comprehensive Pain Center in Miami, FL and psychological consultation at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Employing techniques such as biofeedback, neuromuscular relaxation, and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy, Dr. Newman has adopted a personality guided approach to treatments in behavioral medicine. By identifying each patient’s individual strengths and weaknesses that may affect one’s response to treatment, she develops a custom tailored program for each individual.
