Advanced Pain Management has two locations; our main office in Annapolis which also houses our ambulatory surgery center (Bay Surgery Centers) and a satellite office in Lanham. Pain Management Physician: Interventional pain physician provides office consultations, performs interventional pain procedures, takes practice call, and helps grow the practice. Must have completed pain fellowship residency and be board eligible/certified in pain management.
Physician Assistant: Works in both offices to provide consults, conduct follow up exams, manages patient’s prescriptions, and performs office procedures including injections. Must be certified and graduated from accredited Physician Assistant program. Previous pain practice experience preferred.
Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner: Works in both offices to provide consults, conduct follow up exams, manages patient’s prescriptions, and performs office procedures including injections. Must be certified and graduated from accredited program. Previous pain practice experience preferred.
Registered Nurse: Heads up Quality Assurance program for both the office and ambulatory surgery center. Checks vital signs, ensures charts up to date, chaperoning patients in exam rooms, preps patients before procedures, monitors post procedure patients, triages and follows up on patient medical calls, ensures patient flow is timely, schedules appointments, arranges for follow up care.
Medical Assistant: Checks vital signs, ensures charts up to date, chaperoning patients in exam rooms, preps patients before procedures, monitors post procedure patients, triages and follows up on patient medical calls, ensures patient flow is timely, schedules appointments, arranges for follow up care.
Patient Care Coordinator: Check in/out patients, schedules appointments, sends out new patient packets, confirms appointments, registers patients, verifies eligibility/ benefits/authorization, collects money at desk, ensures a smooth flow of patients, answers incoming calls, acts as ambassador for practice.
Medical Records: Creates and maintains accurate records, pulls charts for appointments, files outside correspondence, responds to outside requests for records.
Internal Floater: Performs both front and back duties. Check in/out patients, schedules appointments, registers patients, verifies eligibility/ benefits/authorization, collects money at desk, ensures a smooth flow of patients, answers incoming calls, acts as ambassador for practice. Billing Specialist: General billing functions including charge entry, payment posting, working accounts receivable, electronic filing of claims, sending paper claims, sending patient statements, working with collection agencies, maintains integrity of billing system. Works to appeal underpaid and rejected claims. Must be comfortable with CPT, ICD-9 and medical terminology and coding and billing conventions.
Office Manager: In charge of daily patient flow and ensures that the schedule is full and we are prepared for patient’s visits. Oversees both front and back functions and coordinates with billing department. Responsible for day to day operations including hiring, monitoring performance, setting schedules and taking corrective actions. Must have at least 3 years of prior medical office experience.
